Garv’s Pick of the Week: Irma La Douce (Kino Lorber)
For the release week of July 17th:
Garv’s Pick of the Week: Irma La Douce [Blu-ray /Kino Lorber]
: Billy Wilder’s biggest hit isn’t his best film, but it is a delightful confection, with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine at their most appealing and with a scene-stealing performance by Lou Jacobi. It is basically a musical without songs, but not without music (because the score by André Previn is magnificent).
