Garv’s Pick of the Week: Murder in Greenwich Village [Blu-ray / Sony]: With Leave Her to Heaven coming from Criterion, this isn’t the best film being released on disc this week, but it is easily the most surprising. I have to wonder why Sony is releasing an obscure 1937 mystery/romantic comedy programmer starring Fay Wray and Richard Arlen, when they certainly have catalog titles with greater commercial potential. Whatever the reason, I’m intrigued, because it looks like a fun little time waster that is right up my alley.

My Gun is Quick [Blu-ray / Kino Lorber]: I’m not a fan of Mickey Spillane’s writing, but I have liked a few of the film adaptations. I haven’t seen this one, so consider it a crap shoot.
Frankenstein: The True Story [Blu-ray / Scream Factory]: This 1973 TV Movie has a very classy cast and a good reputation.
Doctor Who: Sylvester McCoy: Season Three [Blu-ray / BBC]: This is where the run of classic Doctor Who came to an end, due to no fault of Sylvester McCoy (who was always excellent).
