Garv’s Pick of the Week: The Godfather Trilogy 4K (Paramount)

For the release week of March 22nd:

Garv’s Pick of the Week: The Godfather Trilogy [4K UHD / Paramount]: If you love the Godfather movies, you probably already own the Godfather movies. However, if you want to get the very best picture quality possible, you’ll have to buy them again in this 4K UHD box set. The set includes The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, and both cuts of The Godfather Part III (Theatrical and Coda). I’m not sure you want to watch Part III twice, but you’ll take it and like it.

Additional Titles of Interest —

The Flight of the Phoenix [Blu-ray / Criterion]: James Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Dan Duryea, George Kennedy, Ernest Borgnine, and few others crash land in the desert and try to build a workable aircraft from the wreckage in this 1965 dramatic thriller.

Captains of the Clouds  [Blu-ray / Warner Archive]: James Cagney is a pilot in this WWII actioner. He’s also supposed to be Canadian.

Blue Skies  [Blu-ray / Kino Lorber]: Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire reteamed again after Holiday Inn (1944). This time, they are in glorious Technicolor.

A Time for Dying [Blu-ray / Indicator]: Budd Boetticher’s last Western doesn’t have a great reputation, but I may check it out, because he directed a handful of my favorites.

Come Drink with Me [Blu-ray / Arrow Video]: This early Shaw Brothers Kung Fu classic gets a standalone release from Arrow Video (the Criterion of Cult).
