Scream Factory August Titles
Shout! Factory’s horror sub-label, Scream Factory, announced upcoming titles for August, including another classic horror from legendary producer Val Lewton.

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**
Legendary Boris Karloff stars in 1945’s ISLE OF THE DEAD (produced by another horror legend, Val Lewton). The classic chiller arrives on Blu-ray for the first time on Aug 20th.
A small island off the coast of Greece holds a secret so dreadful, that once you step on its shore, you must remain there forever. General Nikolas Pherides (Karloff) is such a visitor. He came to honor the grave of his wife, and discovers that the entire island has been overrun with a plague – a sickness that drives the victims insane. Soon, Pherides succumbs to the illness. When insanity runs rampant, grave robbery, premature burial and vampires are the unspeakable horrors that await those on the Isle of the Dead.

Hoping to discover the secret to eternal youth, Dr. Paul Talbot (Phillip Terry, The Lost Weekend) drags his long-suffering wife, June (Coleen Gray, The Killing), to follow him to Africa. When captured by natives, they witness the shocking – and imminently marketable – metamorphosis of one of the old women into a young girl. But this “magic” is short-lived … and, as the Talbots soon learn, requires a male sacrifice! After Talbot forces his wife to make the transformation, she turns the tables on their tortured marriage and heads back to New York, a voluptuous recreation of her former self. But her beauty cannot last … at least not without a healthy supply of male victims!

One of the most bonkers (yet, completely entertaining) films ever inspired by Alien is now officially a “Scream Factory”-branded title as we present it in a new Blu-ray Steelbook® packaging!
• Official street date is August 13th for U.S. and Canada territories (Region A).
• We are preparing a new 4K scan of the film. All bonus features from the prior Blu-ray release will be ported over as well.
• Only 5,000 units of the steelbook are being produced total. When they’re gone, they’re gone!
• The artwork you see pictured on both come to us from by artist Laz Marquez (who also illustrated our prior steelbooks Humanoids from the Deep, The Howling, Lifeforce and Army of Darkness). If you order directly from our site though, your packaging will also include an exclusive 28.5” x 16.5” rolled lithograph of the illustration. (The litho will not be available elsewhere and only 1,500 of them each are being made).
