The Circus is Leaving Town

All good things must come to an end. The same could be said of all bad and mediocre things. I will leave it up to you, the reader, to judge the merits of this website. For myself, I will simply say “farewell for now.”

I created this website six years ago as a forum to review and recommend movie titles that I thought deserved wider recognition. It’s been a lot of fun, and I’ve made unexpected friendships and connections along the way. However, this site is a one-man operation, and lately I have been yearning to try something new, writing-wise and otherwise-wise.

Consequently, I have decided to put It Came From the Bottom Shelf! on pause while I pursue other writing ventures. This isn’t necessarily goodbye forever. The website and its content will continue to be available, and I may return from time to time. However, I won’t post on a weekly basis, as I have done in the past.

Thank you for your readership, and perhaps we’ll meet again when the circus returns to town.

Cheers,

garv

The ending of “THE CIRCUS” - my favorite ending of all his films. “Due to the fact “City Lights” & “Modern Times” had music and synchronized sound effects, “The Circus” is considered his last truly silent film. ”

  1. Thank you Garv. I’m just one random schmuck out there but I very much enjoyed your site every week or more. Reinvigorated my love for classic comedy when I found it. Take care.
