The Holdovers is worth a trip to the theater!

Greetings, fellow film fans,

I just wanted to dash off a quick note to extend my highest recommendation for Alexander Payne’s new film The Holdovers. It’s the best film I’ve seen in a couple of years.

I’ve heard it’s coming to video-on-demand digital rental on November 28th, but I urge you to see it on the big screen. It’s a beautiful looking film, shot to appear as if it’s a lost movie from the 1970. On the small screen, you will miss some of the nuances, such as the artificial film grain and subtle pops on the soundtrack.

Most importantly, The Holdovers is a movie made for adults. It’s darkly funny, sad, and extremely humane. It is the closest we’re going to get to a new Hal Ashby film (if that means anything to you). It’s a special movie, and it deserves our support.

Take my advice. you won’t regret it.

Cheers,
