Garv’s Pick of the Week: Fric-Frac (Cinetrove International)

For the release week of December 4th:

Garv’s Pick of the Week: Fric-Frac [Blu-ray + DVD / Cinetrove International]: I don’t know much about this French caper comedy from 1939 apart from that it stars Fernandel, Michel Simon, and Arletty.  However, the trailer above looks fun, and it’s great to see a new boutique label dedicated to releasing classic foreign titles in the American market.

Additional Titles of Interest —

Doctor Who: Peter Davison Complete Season One [Blu-ray / BBC]: The complete first season Tom Baker’s time lord looked surprisingly good on Blu-ray, so I’m expecting good things from Peter Davison’s first season.

The Atomic Cafe [Blu-ray / Kino Lorber]: Duck and cover!  This classic documentary compilation of atomic-era government propaganda films gets an HD release.

The Black Windmill [Blu-ray / Kino Lorber]: Don Siegel directed this lesser-known kidnapping thriller between Charley Varrick and The Shootist.  Michael Caine stars, with Donald Pleasence and John Vernon in support.
