Garv’s Pick of the Week: Hammer Volume Three: Blood & Terror (Indicator)

For the release week of July 31st:

Garv’s Pick of the Week: Hammer: Volume 3: Blood & Terror [Blu-ray / Indicator]: This region-free box set collects four lesser-known thrillers from Hammer Studios — The Camp on Blood Island (1958), Yesterday’s Enemy (1959), The Stranglers of Bombay (1959), and The Terror of the Tongs (1961).  It may be for Hammer completists only, but it is a pretty impressive package just the same.

Additional Titles of Interest —

Village Of The Damned (1960) [Blu-ray / Warner Archive]: Think of a brick wall.

Piranha II: The Spawning [Blu-ray / Scream Factory]: They fly now.  We’re screwed.

Tully [Blu-ray / Universal]: Young Adult is one of the best comedies of the 2010s, so I’m looking forward to seeing the newest teaming of Jason Reitman, Diablo Cody, and Charlize Theron.

Final Portrait [DVD / Sony]: The company that created and copyrighted the Blu-ray format releases Stanley Tucci’s newest film only on DVD and Digital.  Bad show, Sony.
