Trailer Released for The Other Side of the Wind

Joyous news!  Today, Netflix released the trailer (above) and poster for Orson Welles’ final film, The Other Side of the Wind.  Forty-eight years after it was begun, Orson Welles’ final film will premiere in two days at the Venice Film Festival.  Then on November 2nd, the film will be released on Netflix and in a few select theaters.

Welles shot The Other Side of the Wind between 1970 and 1976 and had edited at least 40% of the film at the time of his death.  Due to rights battles and lack of financing, the film remained incomplete until a Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign and a distribution deal through Netflix allowed Peter Bogdanovich and Bob Murawski to complete editing, with the support of producers Filip Jan Rymsza and Frank Marshall.

This is far and away my most antipated release of the year.  Wouldn’t it be great for Orson to receive an Oscar nomination all these years after his death?
