Alan Ladd / Veronica Lake Noir Headed to Blu-ray
Shout! Factory’s prestige sub-label, Shout Select, has announced that they will release Blu-rays of two classic film noir pairings of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake. The Blue Dahlia is due out November 13th, and The Glass Key will follow in January. At this point, we don’t know what extras will be included, (but I’d really love to see the earlier 1935 version of The Glass Key with George Raft on the disc in January).

A WWII veteran (Ladd) is accused of killing his unfaithful wife and races against time to find the real murderer with the help of a sympathetic stranger (Lake). Written for the screen by acclaimed detective writer Raymond Chandler, this stylized film features moody black and white cinematography and earned a 1946 Academy Award® nomination for Best Writing, Original Screenplay.
We saw many requests for The Glass Key when we announced The Blue Dahlia, and today we’re very happy to announce that it is headed to Blu-ray in January!
